चौघड़िया के विषय में (What is Choghadiya?)
चौघड़िया, वैदिक हिंदू पंचांग का एक महत्वपूर्ण हिस्सा है, जो शुभ मुहूर्त (Auspicious Muhurat) के निर्धारण में मदद करता है। यह हमें नए कार्यों जैसे कि पूजा, अनुष्ठान, नई नौकरी, या व्यवसाय शुरू करने के लिए शुभ समय बताता है। पुराने समय में, यात्रा की योजना बनाते समय चौघड़िया का उपयोग शुभ मुहूर्त देखने के लिए किया जाता था।
'चौ' का अर्थ चार और 'घड़ी' का अर्थ हिंदी में घड़ी या समय है। चौघड़िया कुल 96 मिनट का होता है, और यह प्राचीन भारतीय समय मापन प्रणाली (Ancient Indian Time System) का एक महत्वपूर्ण हिस्सा है, जिसमें हर 24 मिनट को एक भाग माना जाता है।
उत्तर भारत में लोकप्रिय चौघड़िया एक सटीक और भरोसेमंद प्रणाली है, जो मुहूर्त का निर्धारण सरल बनाती है। इसकी सरलता इसे अधिक उपयोगकर्ता-अनुकूल (User-Friendly) बनाती है, जिससे बिना ज्योतिष (Jyotish) या ज्योतिषाचार्य (Astrologer) की मदद के मुहूर्त को पहचाना जा सकता है।
A similar version of the Choghadiya calendar, known as Gowri Panchang(गौरी पंचांग) or Nalla Neram(नल्ला नेरम) , is popular in southern India, particularly Tamil Nadu. यह प्रणाली शुभ समय (Shubh Samay) और अशुभ समय (Ashubh Samay) को समझने में सहायता करती है।
किसी शुभ कार्य को प्रारम्भ करने के लिए अमृत, शुभ, लाभ और चर, इन चार चौघड़ियाओं को उत्तम माना गया है और शेष तीन चौघड़ियाओं, रोग, काल और उद्वेग, को अनुपयुक्त माना गया है जिन्हें त्याग देना चाहिये।
सूर्योदय और सूर्यास्त के मध्य के समय को दिन का चौघड़िया कहा जाता है तथा सूर्यास्त और अगले दिन सूर्योदय के मध्य के समय को रात्रि का चौघड़िया कहा जाता है।
What are the different types of Choghadiya?
वैदिक ज्योतिष (Vedic Astrology) में, शुक्र (Venus), बुध (Mercury), चंद्रमा (Moon) और बृहस्पति (Jupiter) जैसे प्राकृतिक रूप से शुभ ग्रहों (Benefic Planets) का प्रभाव शुभ (Auspicious) माना जाता है। दूसरी ओर, सूर्य (Sun), मंगल (Mars) और शनि (Saturn) के प्रभाव के तहत आने वाला चौघड़िया समय (Choghadiya Period) आमतौर पर अशुभ (Inauspicious) माना जाता है। इस आधार पर, हम हर चौघड़िया मुहूर्त (Choghadiya Muhurat) को शुभ या अशुभ के रूप में वर्गीकृत कर सकते हैं।

चौघड़िया नाम कैसे पड़ा?
हिन्दु धर्म में, सूर्योदय से सूर्यास्त तथा सूर्यास्त से सूर्योदय के बीच के समय को ३०-३० घटी में बाँटा गया है। चौघड़िया मुहूर्त के लिए, उसी ३० घटी की समय अवधि को ८ भागों में विभाजित किया गया है। जिसके परिणामस्वरूप दिन और रात के दौरान ८-८ चौघड़िया मुहूर्त होते है।
चूँकि प्रत्येक चौघड़िया मुहूर्त लगभग ४ घटी का होता है, इसलिए इसे चौघड़िया = चौ (चार) + घड़िया (घटी) के रूप में जाना जाता है। चौघड़िया मुहूर्त को चतुर्श्तिका मुहूर्त (Chaturshtika Muhurta) भी कहा जाता है।
1. Udveg Choghadiya (उद्वेग चौघड़िया)
Udveg Choghadiya is one of the inauspicious Choghadiyas in the Hindu Panchang. The Sun's harsh nature can burn and blind anything it touches. Therefore, the particular time frame during which the Sun is in power is known as Udveg Choghadiya.
Therefore, it is best to avoid doing auspicious work during this period. Nonetheless, during this time, any work related to the government, which is associated with the Sun in astrology, is considered appropriate.
2. Labh Choghadiya (लाभ चौघड़िया)
According to Vedic astrology, Mercury is a benefic planet that has a positive influence. Mercury is a planet of communication and a representation of wit, humor, and intelligence. Additionally, the planet is associated with respect and fame.
Mercury is thought to have a favorable influence for a certain amount of time. This favorable period is known as Labh Choghadiya. The Labh Choghadiya period is regarded as the most advantageous and auspicious time to start an education and learn new skills.
3. Char Choghadiya (चर चौघड़िया)
Venus is another benefic planet in Vedic astrology. It is associated with love, beauty, passion, and luxury. So, the Venus-ruled time is considered auspicious and is known as Char Choghadiya. The Char period is thought to be the best time to travel and embark on journeys.
4. Rog Choghadiya (रोग चौघड़िया)
Mars is considered a malefic planet. Due to its fiery nature, Mars can have a negative impact on a person's Kundli or birth chart. As a result, the period of time this planet influences is known as Rog Choghadiya and is regarded as unlucky.
During Rog Choghadiya, no auspicious work is done, including religious rituals, events, or the start of new businesses. However, the Rog Muhurat is thought to be suitable for defeating enemies and competitors.
5. Shubh Choghadiya (शुभ चौघड़िया)
As per Hindu Panchang, the time period when Jupiter is in control is called Shubh Choghadiya. It is believed that the Shubh Choghadiya Muhurat is a fortunate time to perform auspicious rituals, particularly marriage ceremonies, etc.
In Vedic astrology, Jupiter is considered to be one of the most auspicious and effective planets. It radiates a lot of positive energy and is associated with wealth, wisdom, knowledge, and happiness. This beneficent planet is thought to bring about a favorable and auspicious period of time.
6. Amrit Choghadiya (अमृत चौघड़िया)
Ruled by the Moon, Amrit Choghadiya is regarded as one of the most important planets in astrology because it influences the human mind and emotions. In Vedic astrology, the Moon is considered a benefic planet, and its presence in a birth chart has always had a strong and positive effect on the individual.
The time duration that the Moon influences is thus considered auspicious and is called Amrit Choghadiya. The Amrit period is thought to be beneficial and auspicious for all forms of work.
7. Kaal Choghadiya (काल चौघड़िया)
One of the unfavorable Choghadiyas in the Hindu Panchang is Kala Choghadiya. Saturn is identified as one of the malefic planets in Vedic astrology. Therefore, the particular time frame during which Saturn is in effect is known as Kala Choghadiya.
In Kala Choghadiya, astrologers advise against participating in any rituals, religious practices, or ceremonies. Yet, in certain circumstances, businesses or initiatives to increase wealth are possible in Kaal Choghadiya.
What is the Difference Between Day and Night Choghadiya?
चौघड़िया को दिन (Day) और रात (Night) में विभाजित किया गया है। सूर्योदय (Sunrise) और सूर्यास्त (Sunset) के बीच के समय को दिन चौघड़िया (Day Choghadiya) कहा जाता है। वहीं, रात चौघड़िया (Night Choghadiya) सूर्यास्त से शुरू होकर अगले दिन सूर्योदय तक चलता है।
अशुभ चौघड़िया (Inauspicious Choghadiya)
राहु काल (Rahu Kala) की तरह, अन्य ऐसे समय भी होते हैं जो शुभ कार्य (Auspicious Work) शुरू करने के लिए उचित नहीं माने जाते। इन अशुभ समयों में काल रात्रि (Kaal Ratri), वार वेला (Vaar Vela) और काल वेला (Kaal Vela) शामिल हैं। वार वेला (Vaar Vela) और काल वेला (Kaal Vela) मुख्यतः दिन में होते हैं, जबकि काल रात्रि (Kaal Ratri) रात के समय में होती है।
ऐसा माना जाता है कि वार वेला, काल वेला, और काल रात्रि के दौरान कोई भी शुभ कार्य नहीं करना चाहिए। दिन के समय वार वेला और काल वेला का प्रभाव अधिक होता है, जबकि रात में काल रात्रि प्रमुख होती है। ऐसा विश्वास है कि इन अशुभ समयों में शुभ कार्य करने से सफल परिणाम (Successful Outcomes) प्राप्त नहीं होते।
How to mark Choghadiya Good or Bad?
The first Muhurta on each weekday is ruled by the weekday lord. For example, on Sunday, the first Choghadiya Muhurta is ruled by the Sun followed by Venus, Mercury, Moon, Saturn, Jupiter and Mars respectively. The last Muhurta of the daytime is also ruled by the day lord.
Hence the effect of each division, either bad or good, is marked based on the nature of the ruling planet. In Vedic Astrology, the time period under the influence of Venus, Mercury, Moon and Jupiter is usually considered auspicious while the time period under the influence of Sun, Mars and Saturn is usually considered inauspicious. Based on the above information, we can mark each Choghadiya Muhurta as bad or good.
